Twig Mantis (Popa spurca)

The Twig Mantis is a master of disguise, perfectly mimicking dried twigs and branches to avoid predators and ambush prey. Native to Africa, this species relies on its elongated, slender body and subtle brown and gray tones to blend seamlessly into its surroundings. Unlike other mantids, the Twig Mantis is a patient hunter, using its camouflage to remain undetected until the perfect moment to strike.
